After years owning and enjoying watches that celebrate classic designs, I’ve learned they generally fall into two categories: those that prioritize specs and value over unique interpretation, and those created with enthusiast inspired tweaks to celebrate the designs we collectively cherish. Both fill an in demand niche, but Fleux decidedly fall into the latter.

To stay in the Rolex jargon, it is Maxi Dial to the north,Radial Dial to the south, and the result is very convincing. By an astonishing visual alchemy, we almost have the impression that these indexes are animated by a mysterious movement.

There is clear old-school inspiration at work, but there’s a modern sheen applied that manages to find a pleasant balance between the inspiration, and the forward looking intent...
